The Problem

Warm White Entertainment wanted to give event attendees a genuinely exclusive artifact from unreleased music, not just another QR code or download link anyone could share or re-scan. The access needed to be tied to one physical tag and one claim — no way for the unlock to spread past the person holding it.

What We Built

We built a Python backend hosted on Google Cloud Platform that pairs each physical NFC tag with a specific unreleased track. When a tag is scanned, the platform checks whether it has already been claimed; the first scan unlocks the track for that person and locks the tag against any further claims, so the song stays tied to the one person who unlocked it.

One-Time Claim Per Tag

Each NFC tag maps to a single track and a single claim event. Once a tag is scanned and claimed, the platform locks it — the same physical tag cannot unlock the track for a second person.
