Hawthorne & Blake
An editorial legal website that establishes professional credibility and guides visitors to a relevant practice area or confidential consultation.
The thinking
Purpose before pixels.
A professional-services website concept designed to make complex legal offerings understandable without compromising a premium identity. Visitors can orient themselves through clear practice categories, review the team, and submit a confidential consultation request. The visual system favors credibility, consistency, and purposeful page structure.
Business context
Legal-services buyers are judging competence, specialization, discretion, and fit. A flashy website can undermine trust just as easily as an outdated one; a visitor needs to find a practice area, understand the team, and contact the right attorney.
Concept approach
Hawthorne & Blake pairs restrained serif typography and a consistent corporate identity with a conventional legal-firm page structure: homepage positioning, focused practice areas, attorney biographies, and a consultation inquiry. The pages are built to feel serious and familiar rather than like a startup dashboard.
Designed capabilities
- 01Practice-area navigation. Legal disciplines grouped into scannable cards with relevant descriptions.
- 02Attorney credibility. Individual practice focus and professional biography structure, supported by portrait cards.
- 03Consultation intake. A contact form organized around the visitor’s issue, preferred contact details, and next action.
- 04Editorial hierarchy. Large, calm headings and restrained imagery put legibility ahead of special effects.
- 05Consistent wayfinding. Identical menu order on each screenshot, with the current page visibly identified.

A connected journey
From first step to next action.
A visitor arrives via a legal-service search → reads the firm’s positioning → finds the practice area that matches their matter → evaluates attorneys → requests a consultation.
